Ring Ring!

At 32C3, we will again provide to you a phone infrastructure operated by the Phone Operation Center (POC), so do not forget to bring your DECT phone with you (and the right charger, possibly a headset if you have one). In addition to many other features and easter eggs, the audio streams of the talks as well as the simultaneous translations will be available via telephone.

Klingelingeling Klingelingeling!

Lockpicking Workshop – Learn to Pick Locks Legally

Learn the basics of lockpicking in this all-levels workshop on Saturday, 23 January, from 12pm until 2:30pm.

In this session, you’ll learn:

  • The legal aspects and ramifications of owning, carrying, and using lockpicks and associated tools
  • Which tools are available, the tools that we use, and the tools to avoid
  • The techniques involved in picking standard pin tumbler locks
  • Basic single-pin picking with specially-modified training locks
  • Single-pin picking of unmodified locks containing security pins

Locks, picks, and more information will be provided, and picks will also be available for cash purchase on the day.

Tickets are on sale now, for £8. Spaces are limited, so please book now.

Please Note: This is not a locksmithing course. The Nottingham Hackspace advises against picking locks that are in use or picking locks you do not own or have permission to pick. Any person making references to any illegal activities related to the locks, the techniques being taught, or theft will be asked to leave without a refund.

Einladung zum Junghackertag auf dem 32. Chaos Communication Congress

32nd Chaos Communication Congress: First version of the Fahrplan

Deutsche Version weiter unten.

Fasten your seatbelts! We have a Fahrplan here. Like in the last years, we used many hours to review all the submissions, communicated with potential speakers, let you do the Halfnarp to avoid collisions – and now we have it!

We are happy to present version 0.9 (The Line Runners) of the Fahrplan of the 32nd Chaos Communication Congress. Please note that this is not the final version. There are still some slots which in fact are not free but just not publicly seen yet and thus do not appear in the first version of the Fahrplan.

See you all in Hamburg!

P.S. Just like in last years we created a naming scheme for the Fahrplan. Have fun figuring it out! :}

P.S.: Wie in den vorangegangenen Jahren haben wir uns für die Fahrplanversionen ein System der Benennung erdacht. Viel Spaß beim Rausfinden! :}

Making Spirit-Infused Beverages!

A bunch of members & friends of the Milwaukee Makerspace recently gathered to try our hand at something that does not mix well with all the heavy machinery at the shop: alcoholic beverages!  We attended a consumer cocktail academy hosted by Hendricks Gin at the Iron Horse Hotel, and we had a blast!

Check out our pictures:

32C3 Ticket Status

German version below.

As of Saturday morning, the 32c3 ticket presale is sold out. We are overwhelmed by the enormous number of people who want to join us in Hamburg, but unfortunately the venue’s capacity is limited. Therefore, there will not be another batch of tickets for presale.

No more tickets in pre-sale. CC BY-NC 2.0 via flickr/Sascha Ludwig

There will be an also very limited amount of day passes for sale on-site. Please note that due to the Junghackertag the number of day passes available for sale will be particularly low on day two.

Call for Heralds

Are you able to speak English (and ideally also German) fluently in front of a large crowd?
Be prepared – for the time being, you might be the face of the Congress!

We are in the process of building our team of Heralds in preparation for 32C3 and we decided to change things a bit for this year’s Congress!

What are Heralds? Heralds vocalize general announcements to the audience, manage the Q&A after the talks and – most importantly – introduce the speakers to the crowd. Starting this year, we want Heralds to be able to focus solely on the speaker and the topic of the talk at hand.

We want you to be the best Heralds possible, so from now on, Heralds will not only be responsible for all the talks within a four hour time slot, you are also given the possibility to sign up early (read: now!), enabling you to prepare in advance of the Congress. We hope this will put Heralds less „on the spot“ and provide an even better Congress experience for everyone involved.

Mail us!

If the preliminary Fahrplan piqued your interest and you feel up to the job, please mail us, noting the talks you are interested in, ideally with a short introduction and why you feel best suited for the talks you chose, at 32c3-herald(at)cccv.de.

Please do so until December, 16th, 2015!

More information about Heralds can be found in the wiki.
